I'm torn between a three or four stars. It wasn't bad, I just wasn't impressed by the broth in the pho. The service was good and the restaurant itself was pretty decent. We only had the pho and didn't try anything else. I will probably go ahead but it's not a place I would crave and have to have.

When it comes to the food places around my workplace, I like pho viet thai a lot. I've ordered through Uber Eats many times over the last couple years and have eaten inside the restaurant once last year with my cousins. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the ambiance inside is nicer than most pho establishments and the food is overall great.
The pho here is some of the best I've had. If you like spicy, ask for their lemongrass chili oil, it's soooo good!! The rice plates with your choice of protein/meat, salad and egg have also been a great dish here. The chicken wings aren't my favorite but they're decent. For a while they had really good "fruit refresher" drinks and a "Hokkaido Caocao" black tea coffee drink which I LOVED ordering but it appears they took them away.. or at least they did on the online ordering which is disappointing for me and why I took a star off. I hope they'll bring them back in the near future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angelica H.DuPont, WA01Feb 16, 2024
The spring rolls was nothing but noodles n thin thin shrimp. very very disappointing! if I could give one star then I would!

Having just moved to Tacoma and working late nights, this was the recommended go to place for late night pho.
I dined here a few times, noticing how they are either short staffed or they don't greet and seat their customers in a timely manner.
The first time I dined, they took forever to take our order (forever equivalent to 20+ minutes), second time got faster, and third time is where the 1 star comes in.
I'm usually patient about waiting (except when I'm hangry) which I wasn't for these dine in experiences but my friend and I went in one night and noticed a table that was mumbling about something across our table... Yep.
You guessed it.
Our creepy crawler friends. There was one at first under an empty table and I just kept watching it. Then another one came around and they were big enough to be spotted across the tables. I looked at my friend and said, "what should we do?" he says, "well we're already here" and I think, ehh, it's gross but it won't kill me and I want my pho.
The food has always tasted decent and had no issues but as for their cleanliness- they need to hire an exterminator which I also found odd that the staff wears masks, gloves, and plastic wraps their beansprout dishes but... cockroach infested kind of cancels out the other health pre-cautions they take.
I'm sorry, I won't be back after this one.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dominique T.Steilacoom, WA754168Dec 10, 2021
I've discovered this place by accident; I'm glad I did. The food is delicious. I've never been a fan of Pho, but this place has turned me around. I could not stop drinking the broth. It's aromatic, the spices blended nicely with just the right amount of heat. I highly recommend this place.
The drinks are the best!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Ashna C.West Queen Anne, Seattle, WA2712325Sep 17, 2023
Yesterday was my first time at Pho Viet Thai. When my boyfriend and I entered we were a little confused if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated since no one was there to greet us. But after we walked up to the counter a worker kindly greeted us and sat us in a booth. The server gave us the menu and time to look it over. After a couple minutes without us even asking, he brought waters and utilities to the table (+1 point for me since that's what I would do as a server). We ordered shrimp and ham spring rolls, large house speacial pho and a pork with fried egg rice plate. Our spring rolls came first and they were super delicious, most of the pho places I go springs usually taste the same but the peanut sauce at this place was just on the money . The pho broth was probably the best I've had in a long time. I used to be a religious pho eater so I know good broth when I taste it! The pork plate was good as well it came with a side salad, the signature fish sauce, and Ofc the over medium egg. Over all the food was a 9/10 I just wish I would've ordered the pork CHOP plate I think the regular pork plate was missing that bone marrow flavor. Anyways yeah the price was super reasonable for our food and my drink it came out to 37$ I think the only thing that really killed the vibe was that this big fly kept trying to eat our dinner with us. The ambiance is super chill and the staff is great they just need to work on the cleanliness of the place!

This my absolute favorite pho restaurant in Tacoma. Im reading all the negative views and it just caught me in disbelief. Their broth is so delicious, I'd finish most of that after eating all the meats and noodles. I really enjoy their wontons too! I want to try different entrees but I love their pho so much it's my only option when coming here. Everyone is so nice and the environment is pleasing. I've eaten here by myself and with my family multiple times. Im vietnamese btw, I got my mom to even say she loved the pho here. That's saying something. ;)
