Reports of the first Corona virus death in the United States occurred at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, Washington. Governor Jay Inslee as well as Washington State health officials confirmed the breaking news. The person who died was in their 50s and was medically at high risk.
President Trump held a news conference this morning while assuring America our country and administration is handling the situation effectively and people can be confident that there is no reason to panic. Though he states that there will be more cases.
To put some perspective on the Coronavirus, the CDC in January reported over 15 million cases of the regular flu virus with 140,000 hospitalizations and 8200 deaths.
News of the death comes with reports of three new cases in California, Oregon and Washington with two cases in which the patients were infected by unknown means. None of these people recently traveled overseas or had come into contact with anyone who had.
