The Museum tells the story of the unique role the DuPont area played in the development of Washington State and the Puget Sound Region. Exhibits include displays and artifacts from the four eras of DuPont history; beginning with the Native Americans through the Hudson’s Bay Company and DuPont Company to Weyerhaeuser’s planned community, Northwest Landing. The Museum also features archival photographs, equipment used to manufacture dynamite and displays of “Life in a Company Town” 1906-1976.
Built circa 1912, the Museum building was originally a butcher shop and in 1951 became DuPont’s first City Hall. In 1977 the City designated the building for a museum to house DuPont Company artifacts and photos.
