A Roaring Adventure: David and Savanah’s Monster Jam Experience

The rumble of engines, the smell of burning rubber, and the thunderous cheers of the crowd—this was what 12-year-old David and his 9-year-old sister, Savanah, remembered most vividly about their unforgettable trip to Monster Jam at the Tacoma Dome last year. The siblings, both fans of high-octane thrills, had begged their parents for weeks to take them to the event, and when the day finally arrived, it exceeded every expectation.

“It was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!” David exclaimed to his friends the next day, replaying in his mind the moment Grave Digger launched into the air, wheels spinning against a backdrop of flashing lights and screaming fans.

For Savanah, it was all about the sheer size of the trucks. “They were so big!” she marveled, stretching her arms wide as if trying to capture the enormity of El Toro Loco, her favorite monster truck. “And the horns were awesome!”

Their journey to Monster Jam had started with a short drive to the Tacoma Dome, where the energy was palpable even in the parking lot. Vendors sold merchandise featuring the biggest names in Monster Jam, and the kids eagerly picked out their souvenirs. David chose a Grave Digger hat, while Savanah clutched a bright orange El Toro Loco plushie that instantly became her favorite toy.

As they entered the arena, the roar of engines reverberated through the walls, sending shivers of excitement down their spines. The lights dimmed, and an announcer’s booming voice introduced the night’s lineup. David and Savanah were on the edge of their seats, holding their breath as the first truck roared onto the dirt-filled track.

The event featured everything they had hoped for: heart-pounding races, jaw-dropping freestyle tricks, and even a few unexpected thrills when trucks flipped over in dramatic crashes. Each stunt left the crowd gasping and cheering, and David couldn’t stop shouting, “Did you see that?!” every time a truck performed a backflip or crushed a row of cars.

Savanah, who was initially a little nervous about the loud noises, quickly warmed up to the excitement. By the end of the night, she was waving her hands in the air, cheering louder than anyone in their section.

Their favorite moment came during the freestyle competition when Grave Digger pulled off an incredible stunt. The iconic green and black truck soared over a massive ramp, flipped mid-air, and landed perfectly on all four wheels. The crowd erupted in applause, and David felt like his heart might burst with excitement. “That’s why Grave Digger is the best!” he declared, fist-pumping the air.

But the night wasn’t just about the trucks. Between events, the family indulged in stadium snacks—giant pretzels, hot dogs, and cotton candy—and took pictures together with the glowing Monster Jam logo in the background. Their parents couldn’t help but smile, knowing this would be a night their kids would remember forever.

As they left the Tacoma Dome, David and Savanah couldn’t stop talking about what they had seen. “I want to be a monster truck driver when I grow up!” David announced, inspired by the bravery and skill of the drivers. Savanah nodded enthusiastically. “Me too! I’ll drive El Toro Loco!”

Now, as the calendar turns to 2025, the siblings are counting down the days until Monster Jam returns to Tacoma. They’ve been checking the official website daily, eagerly scanning for updates on the lineup and planning which trucks they want to see again. David is hoping to catch Max-D in action this year, while Savanah has her fingers crossed that El Toro Loco will perform even bigger stunts.

To prepare for the event, they’ve created a Monster Jam scrapbook, filled with photos and ticket stubs from last year, along with drawings of their favorite trucks. They’ve even choreographed their own “freestyle routines” using toy monster trucks on a makeshift dirt track in their backyard. “This year’s going to be even better!” David declared, his excitement contagious.

For the two siblings, Monster Jam is more than just a show—it’s an adventure that fuels their imaginations and brings their family closer together. The sights, sounds, and adrenaline of the event create memories that will last a lifetime. And as January 2025 approaches, David and Savanah are ready to make new memories at the Tacoma Dome, cheering on their favorite trucks and dreaming big dreams.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the world of monster trucks, David and Savanah would agree: Monster Jam is an experience like no other. If you haven’t been to a Monster Jam event yet, they’d say, “What are you waiting for?” Grab your tickets, head to the Tacoma Dome, and get ready for a night of roaring engines, epic stunts, and family fun. Just like David and Savanah, you’ll leave with a full heart and a smile you can’t shake.
