Another wonderful visit to this local dental practice.
The cleaning by Kelsey was flawless. She's not only a talented hygienist, but a kind and caring healthcare professional.
During this visit I had an opportunity to meet Dr. Kerr, the owner of the business. I was impressed with him, his skills and interactions with patients. Usually I'm seen by Dr. White, another awesome dentist in the practice. He's performed several crowns and fillings on me, all done perfectly.
This office radiates professionalism, teamwork, a talented staff and a genuine care and concern for patient care.

Upon arrival at the office the front desk was friendly. The dental hygienist, Keriann, was talented, pleasant and kind. Keriann completed xrays, cleaning and a thorough preliminary exam in preparation of the dentist. When she was done, she briefed the dentist prior to his arrival in the exam room. The dentist, Dr. White, was also excellent. Very courteous, respectful and competent.
After some less than stellar dental experiences, I'm ok with this office and their team.
I'm going to refrain from any comments about billing and insurance, since that's always an area of confusion.
I'll be returning to the office for some dental work and future check-ups, cleanings and exams.

The staff is so helpful here and so nice that he now enjoys visiting the dentist. I now take all 3 kids with me to this office. We've now been coming here for 5 years and never had a bad experience. Thanks to this office the kids now enjoy going to the dentist.

Unfortunate I cannot say the same about the front of house. Overcharged my parents,who pay cash. Accused me of running out on my bill, even though after each procedure I ask if I owe anything. Only to find out (after a conference call my insurance advocate had with the office manager), they had placed me in the wrong insurance billing, they missed their estimate by 300.00 and it was always off by 30-50 for years,
The front of house was accusatory, unprofessional and threatening.
I was unable to contact the office manager without the help of my insurace advodcate.
Review all estimates and make sure they are not guesstamites
The doctors and hygienist are very good.

I love their approach to really knowing me and my family and offering solutions and ideas for current and future treatment as well without being pushy.

The care for my comfort was refreshing. Having other people working on your mouth is not a fun thing, but they genuinely care to make it as positive as possible.
I highly recommend anyone give them a try!

They remember who you are personally they ask pertinent questions regarding your past dental history they remember what you're afraid of and if you need a little extra happy gas or numbing shots to make it through. The office is clean warm and inviting and everyone is extremely helpful.

And they have a fancy machine that makes the crown right there while you wait. Great -- know who pays for it? .... YOU! Anyway, as promised, I paid for it in full right after.
... NOW I'VE BEEN RECEIVING MORE BILLS from them on the crown which I have paid for.
... what a headache! (not to mention they continually over charge my husband and he now goes someplace else --- CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS!)
BUT I did have to get a crown and 2 fillings replaced and all the drilling was about 3 hours! -- which took significant time from the dentist. I understand how they need to keep the business churning -- and thus, the cleaning folks get neglected. He was very nice and personable. Much more than in the past.
There's a problem with the crown (it's sitting funny). He saw this and told me to come back in 3 months so he can put another new one on - if it doesn't turn normal (or something). Anyway, it's not turning normal. So I will go back. (but plan on joining my husband at the other dentist eventually)
The prices are still high if you are insurance-less. The staff is nice. The TV's are welcomed - and they even put a blanket on me. I wouldn't say this is "My" dentist or the guy I would travel to come to... but he's not half bad -- good actually! (and, as a sworn dentist disliker, that's saying a lot!)Mar 23, 2011Previous reviewNow, I am writing this after only having been here 3 times (well, 6 if you include my husband's visits -- which mirror my experiences): Once for one of those "intro" type appointments where they take pictures, molds and see what needs to be done. And twice for cleaning.
I must say, this is a very comfortable office! It is beautifully decorated, with massaging chairs and TV's with headphones for the patients.... such a plus!!!
That first appointment was long, but the hygienist was really, really great. At the end, I was able to meet Dr. Kerr as he explained what needed to be done (no surprises there). I was, however, surprised they gave me a box of COOKIES as I left.
The next two appointments/cleanings are where it all gets a bit odd. Well, to me, maybe I am just out of practice in experiencing dental work stuff.
To begin with, the front desk was really nice. Check in was fast, and the waiting room is comfy. The hygienist called me back and get to work - again, the hygienists are great! No pain, comfortable and not a lot of that awkward "dental chair, tools in your mouth" talk. She was really good. But I NEVER even SAW the actual dentist -- not even a glimpse let alone a handshake!!! ... and it was the same for my husband! (which REALLY irritated him)
So, by now, you're reading this wondering why not "5" stars?! Three reasons, really.
1- The cash cost without insurance is HIGH for a cleaning (I didn't bother to check other services). With insurance, it's the same as any place. But we are only allow 2 cleanings a year from our insurance, and my husband was told he needs 3... that's an extra $200 PLUS outta my pocket if we continue to go here ( I think I was told $219)
2- The office front desk (with the exception of my friend who works there) and the Deni st seems to really care about me being a patient of theirs -- but not desire to know me as a patient. It's hard to explain. But you do feel like you are file number, and insurance check, just another person there to fill a chair and get money from.
3- The biggest for us: WHERE'S THE DENTIST???! I came to see "Dr. Kerr." ... not the hygienist. If a dentist were charging $200 (PLUS) for a cleaning, the dentist better AT LEAST make some time for a nod and smile. I'm not asking for even a conversation or work ... just KNOW your people are there for YOU!!!!
Once we get the things done we need to, I think we will be looking again (at least husband will)...
