The restaurant has appeared to have been recently renovated. There are new booths, tables, and menus. Everything looks elegant, clean and tastefully decorated.
We ordered Micheladas (La Mansion with oysters). They were over-the-top generously crafted, and super delicious compared to other micheladas we've tried. These were one of the better ones out there. I got a molcajete, which was very tasty. My husband got street tacos and a half dozen of raw oysters.
The server was courteous. We had a few hiccups with what was available on the menu so it took a little for my food to arrive after I had to change what I originally ordered. Overall, this is a nice restaurant to come check out if you like mexican seafood or just Mexican food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 24, 2023
I want to say at the outset that my family adored the food. Mexican seafood is uncommon in most of the US and most people do it poorly. But everything we ate was delicious from the ceviche tostada to shrimp tacos to crab legs to fajitas ... the food was superb.
The problem is management. The menus have not been updated to reflect new pricing and the owners way of getting around this is posting a "sign" (8x11 sheet of paper on the front register) that lets diners know the prices have changed (even if not reflected so on the menu). Our bill was $40 more than we expected and that is a lot for a family of five. When we asked our server, she admitted that she should have been more clear when we were ordering. She offered to reduce the price of two items to the original menu price, but that was only $15 off the first bill.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Sep 29, 2023
Delicious food, cozy ambiance, peppy music. My husband took me here for a date night and they had the freshest guacamole and a very nice tart margarita. My husband has the enchiladas a la crema and I had 3 adobada tacos.

Love coming here when I'm in town!
Pros: Always easy to get a table, big menu, food is consistent and always hot.
Cons: They add cheese to their fajitas which is a major downer for me and their guac is a bit bland.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Kathryn A.Olympia, WADec 22, 2024Updated review
Wonderful food prepared to order. Owners are great. Out of the ordinary Mexican fare, which makes a refreshing change from the same old, same old menus.

Look for a turquoise blue building that looks more like a house. Parking is down the driveway at the back (similiar to the parking at the old La Petite Maison on the west side).
The husband and wife owners are charming. The food excellent. Unfortunately, they had just received a box of unripe avocados, not their fault, but no guacamole today.
One can taste that they use fresh ingredients, and prepare them well. Though I ate very simply tonight, I plan to return for more interesting, complex offerings in the near future.
Though not a complaint, compared to when Ricardo's had the space and very much over decorated, the interior now is rather plain, and could use a few posters or ethnic decorations. - Teala M.Vancouver, WA152251Sep 16, 2024
food was amazing!! some reviews do mention the time it takes to get your food. It does take longer than a typical Mexican restaurant, it's absolutely worth it! Everything is made to order and from scratch and it shows. So good!

Came here on a Saturday evening. As we walked in we were warned that our food may take a while to be prepared. Sounds like maybe they were short staffed. The lady that greeted us at the door was the same lady that waited on us.
There were a few other diners. Our order was taken in a timely manner.
Soft drinks are sold by the can or bottle, so no refills. The chips were very crunchy and darker in color than most other restaurants. The salsa was good but did not pack any heat and left more to be desired.
I decided to go with the seafood chimichanga. It has been a while since I have had one. It was packed with a seafood mix and cheese. It wasn't really what I was expecting and a little different than what I have had in the past at other establishments. The refried beans were a little salty and the rice portion is extremely small.
We also ordered some ceviche, which was good...but for some reason was brought out after the main entree. We had the la mansion platter, wet burrito, LA burrito, chicken chimichanga, 3 tacos--chicken tacos (thought it was supposed to come with rice/beans but didn't) and the shrimp burrito. Everybody seemed to have liked their food, but noted that it was salty. When the food came out, it had a nice presentation. I would not say that the food was as good as I would have hoped for it to be.
Not sure if this just wasn't the right night to visit but I can say it was a little disappointing considering there are many Mexican restaurants in the area.
Customer service, outside of the wait time, was pleasant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 2023
If you want seafood and Mexican this is the place! Some of the best ceviche on oysters I've ever had, shrimp and cheese dip--soo gooey and yum-o, and the Coctel Cameron omg. Great portions, homemade chips and a swordfish on the wall to boot! Visiting a friend here and she misses Mexican food back in Nevada, so this was a great choice.
