Food was so good with the rice cakes being the right level of soft yet still chewy. Not overpowering with the sauces, especially with the pork meat that my table and I ordered later on in the meal, but not pictured below. We got level 3 spiciness and it was something where it was more due to the flavorful spices rather than the actual scovilles of the sauce, which I love.
Service was quick and they did respectful check-ins that did not interrupt flow of the eating and conversing among the table.
Not much design going with the place. I feel like a splash of color or even paintings could make the place feel more welcoming and appealing to the eye of passerbys who could look inside. Appreciated the Hi-Chews at the front by the cashier as a sweet treat to take out to the door once done eating, or entering the restaurant when about to eat.
bottom line upfront/bluf: quick service for yummy food that will make ur table stop talking bc of how much u eatingHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 1, 2024
I'll start off by saying the food is quite pricey. For starters, I got the seafood pancake and it was nicely crisped and full of delicious seafood mixture. As a main I got the gambit ribs and spicy pork. I really wanted pork bone soup but they've discontinued it. Bummer! It would be a hit come winter time... wink wink.
The food came out quickly and everything delicious. Service was friendly.
The restaurant is set up minimalistic and the ambiance is chill.
Overall, it's a place I wouldn't visit very often due to food prices being so high but the location is very close and that convenience is what would keep me coming back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Barbara C.Olympia, WA0347Feb 3, 2025Updated review
So so service, average food expensive and atmosphere not so good. I think some people would like it, but I am selective.

Mostly pickled things and were unusual and worth the experience. I've been meaning to try this place since 1985 since the bldg was the nostalgic Seoul restaurant. This Garden Seoul place is supposedly even better.

I think this might have been one of my favorite meals I've had in Thurston County. The interior is very clean and nice. The waitresses were absolutely fantastic and very attentive. The food came out very fast for around 5 pm on a Saturday. The kimchi had a lovely flavor, and we enjoyed all the banchan. The mandu were plump and perfectly fried. We both enjoyed the spicy pork bulgogi, but the real star of the night was the budae jjigae (army stew on the menu).
The broth was so rich and smoky. I wish I could bathe in it! There was so much hot dog and spam! I could not stop eating this until I physically couldn't anymore. We will be back to try all the other dishes!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Victoria Angel R.Lacey, WA022Jan 17, 2025
I went there with a friend, we ordered bibimbap, short ribs, and tteokbokki. The restaurant was empty, just us two. When we got our food, they all looked good and tasted amazing! There was music in the background, their bathroom is clean.

I walked in, said hello to the elderly woman working there, and sat at a booth at around 5 PM on a Monday. The table was greasy. The place was about 1/4 full. I sat for 30 minutes and was ignored the entire time I was there. She didn't even ask me if I wanted something to drink. After 30 mins, I walked out. She didn't acknowledge that either. Zero stars for this place.

The Seoul Restaurant has not existed for years. What is there now is the Seoul Garden. Please fix Yelp to reflect this.

I'm giving 5 stars because food was so good! Be prepared the service was pretty slow but I'd like to think it's because they're in the back preparing everything from scratch. The ban Chan (side dishes) was good variety and I had the beef soup, sooo yummy in this cold WA weather.

Always great food - Attentive service. It's not a fancy place, but a low-key comfortable spot with good authentic Korean food

Ordered Army Stew. First time I've had it with so little noodles. For $18. It's an instant noodle pack - they only use half the pack. And want to charge you extra for more noodles. While the flavor was fine - for the price and quantity, avoid the place. We all work hard for our money. Not with the exchange. New owner from my previous visit and prices have really gone up.
